Three houses for a father and his two sons on one plot: close enough to remain a family, independent enough for each household to keep its own life.

Position Before Form

On an 875 m² corner plot, the parents' house takes the corner and faces both streets, with the sons' houses on either side. Each house sits on a parcel of no more than 300 m², with its own street and separate guest and family entrances. Position settles the relationship before form describes it.

One Stone

The three masses are structurally separate, joined by one composition and one stone. Cream Riyadh stone is smooth across the base and middle volume, cut with horizontal grooves on the upper volume, and interrupted by gates in aged bronze. The street sees a single 14-metre building; each house knows its boundaries from within.

Each House Its Own Sky

The shared wall brings the houses together and keeps the light out. The houses therefore draw their light from three main internal courtyards, and each has its own sky. Toward the street, the windows are vertical cuts with inward-folding edges, and the balconies are recessed. The facade keeps privacy; the courtyard gives light.
